We are sometime asked what Silk-Screening is and why used it. Silk Screening is a process of printing using thick inks, squeegeed (pushed) through a mesh (screen) with a stencil style image which the ink fills and creates the image on a substrate below. Original silk was used as the screen but polyester mesh or synthetic meshes are used today. Silk-screening is is used mostly on apparel like graphic tee’s sold in retail stores and branded t-shirts for companies, sporting teams, etc. It is also used on signs, posters, labels, tags, and other items need long-lasting requirements. It produces a very opaque and durable print. It can be used on apparel where embroidery is too expensive for the budget.
